Wealth inequality has broken America, there are many causes such as technology, Corporations, evolving job market & demand, unionization. Without a doubt, there are many other causes of wealth inequality, it is a large beast with no silver bullet. But the consequences can not be ignored. The effects of these consequences compound to cause gaping issues in society. Wider income gaps lead to deteriorations in the following. Drug abuse, infant mortality, life expectancy, mental illness, obesity, child wellbeing, high school dropouts, maths & literacy scores, social mobility, teenage births, child conflict, homicide, imprisonment, social capital & trust.
